The Musée de l'Aviation de Lyon-Corbas is located on an old airfield outside Lyon in France. They have a fabulous collection of aircraft including many French air force machines, some unique prototypes as well. The museum hosts guided tours, when I went you were not free to simply roam at will, you must be escorted. This is primarily for safety reasons, as well as security as it is quite a large place and you could not keep tabs on everyone, I guess. The staff were hugely friendly, passionate, and, being mainly ex-French air force, spoke English. Highlights for me were the operating main landing gear from a Mirage F.1, the little Alphajet from the aerobatic display team, and a Mirage III prototype.
